I am really on board with this use of a progressive pattern silhouette (just made up, but it makes sense to me). I’m not too crazy about the positioning of the “cK.” I probably would’ve tried placing it on the lower/upper left; in that spot, it manages to communicate the information while staying out of focal point.
Recently discovered Vampirella. Always thought it was a “smutty” comic, and discovered that anyone who is anyone in comic book illustration/writing has probably worked on it at some point in the past.
This illustration style is EXACTLY what I used to aspire to in my more artistic days. I should probably check back into figure drawing. My only issue with this is that I can tell it utilized live models across the board. There isn’t really much effort put into developing the character’s look beyond a few pieces of costume jewelry and a sword.
I am in love with the overall B-movie witch genre look of the page, though. So yeah, check out Vampirella. Shit is crazy cool.
Taka Mayumi is now FIRMLY on my radar. Jesus. There is nothing about this that I don’t love.

This amazing song is finally getting the recognition that it deserves - a Grammy nomination. Maybe I’ll watch them this year.
And, uh, the doctor says, “Well, why don’t you turn him in?” The guy says, “I would, but I need the eggs.” Well, I guess that’s pretty much now how I feel about relationships; y’know, they’re totally irrational, and crazy, and absurd, and… but, uh, I guess we keep goin’ through it because, uh, most of us… need the eggs.
This is right up my alley. Love visualizing the breakdown of digital information. It might be trite, nowadays, but I like what I like.
